Iceland – Deep Diving

Seawork were selected by the Icelandic Maritime Authority to assist with wreck investigation and body recovery from wrecks in deep water in North West Iceland.

The vessels were located on the edge of the Artic Circle and in water depths of around 90 metres.

Working from the Icelandic Coast Guard Vessel ‘Thor’ Seawork provided the Supervision, Divers and equipment to ensure success and safety.

Mobilised from our base at Romsey, equipment was prepared and tested and spares packages created to support the Surface Gas diving technique required for working productively at these depths.

The equipment was loaded into containers and transported to Immingham, loaded on to a ship and delivered to Reykjavik.  The helium and oxygen quads were dispatched from Norway.

A team of highly skilled personnel arrived in Reykjavik consisting of Supervisors, Divers And Technicians to assemble the equipment on to the Vessel Thor and prepare to sail to Site.

Over a period of two weeks all of the Clients requirements had been achieved and the Vessel returned to Reykjavik and equipment and team demobilised.
