Milford Haven – Salvage

Seawork responded to a major incident involving a jack up barge working on a jetty refurbishment project in Milford Haven.

Following the initial requirement involving the righting and refloating of the jack up barge, the recovery of items from the seabed including a 250-tonne crane, control cabins, and a variety of machinery was undertaken, overseen by the authorities.

This involved the recovery of 12 crane weights, the removal of the jib, the crane itself, shipping containers, control cabin, generators, welding and burning equipment, cylinders as well as construction materials.

This was undertaken in water depths of up to 30 metres of water on spring tides.
